Feedback on your final year project

Your final year project is often the first long piece of independent research you write. Esmond reads your draft and shows what your supervisor might question, while there is still time to fix it.

Where final year projects usually slip

Read at undergraduate level

Esmond adjusts its expectations to the document type and your year. A final year project is not judged as a PhD chapter. The feedback looks at whether your project is sound and well argued for its level, and tells you what to tackle first if time is short.

Projects take many forms across disciplines: a written dissertation, a design or build report, a lab-based study. Upload the written part as a PDF.

When to upload

How your project is spread over the year depends on your programme. Two moments work well for a review. The first is when you have a complete rough draft, even with gaps: structural problems are still cheap to fix and the feedback can shape your next meeting with your supervisor. The second is a week or two before you submit, when you want a final reading of argument and evidence with time left to act on it.

Choose the writing phase in the intake. A first draft gets feedback on direction and the big picture; a final version gets a closer reading of detail.

Capstones, reports and applied projects

Not every final year project is a classic dissertation. In business it may be a consultancy-style report for a real organisation, in nursing a structured literature review, in computing a project report alongside software. The questions stay similar: is the aim clear, are choices justified, and do the conclusions follow from the work? Esmond reads each type for what it is.

How it works

You upload your draft as a PDF. Short documents come back within minutes; a full dissertation takes longer. You get two things back: your own document with comments in the margin, and a separate feedback report that sets out what to tackle first. Every upload starts with a free preview, and the price follows the length of your document and is shown before you pay. No subscription, no account.

Esmond evaluates your work and writes nothing for you. Each comment points to a passage, explains what a supervisor or examiner might question, and gives a direction for revising it. You decide what to change, and every sentence stays yours.

What Esmond does not do

Frequently asked questions

My project includes software or a design. Can Esmond review it?

Esmond reads the written report. It does not run code or assess drawings, but it does look at how you explain and justify what you built.

Am I allowed to use Esmond for my final year project?

That depends on your university and module. See what Irish universities say about AI and check your module handbook.
